Tir Ddraig Film Festival is a small festival in Wales. Commencing in 2025, TDFF has been founded by a small group of passionate film enthusiasts and filmmakers, eager to share the amazing work of talented Filmmakers from all over the world.
A Festival for Indie Filmmakers
Independant filmmaking isn’t always rewarding! Late night scripting, struggling to crew up, filming in tough conditions and endless post production don’t offer the glamorous life that some of us thought show business would provide! But for whatever reason that doesn’t deter us from the next project.
TDFF is a festival that wants to celebrate the hardwork of filmmakers, as nothing is more demoralising than pouring a piece of your soul into a project only for it to be lost to audiences! The festival scene is getting harder and harder for independents, high entry fees and distant judges can be a barrier to festival success and we’re trying to change that.
Managing the Money: Just like an Indie Production, we’re keeping costs low so that we can keep the entry fees lower! We don’t do this for the money! Just for the love of the game!
Increasing the Odds: Instead of having everyone compete for just a few awards, we have many categories, all of which will need winners! Increasing the odds of talented filmmakers being recognised for their work.
Rewarding Filmmakers: Filmmaking is an expensive business, and a nice plaque isn’t going to fund the next project (or payback creditors). We’ve not broken even this year, but as we grow this festival, we will put a significant percentage of surplus revenue generated into cash prizes for the award winners.

Celebrating Film Together:
Film is a universal medium! Everyone watches films, but not everyone knows the work that goes into it! We’re proud of the work that filmmakers do! We’re excited to platform their amazing work and be a small part of their journey. This year’s festival will be during the last week of November. Pending funding we’re planning on an in person festival, though in our first year it may only be an online showcase! Watch this space for updates including the judging panel and other festival details.
